An article in Saturday’s Houston Chronicle about changing family demographics in America cited research by Gary Gates, CCPR affiliate and senior research fellow at the Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law, indicating that roughly 90,000 female same-sex couples in the U.S. are raising children under the age of 18.
