Faculty Position, Social Network Analysis- Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

The Division of Social Science at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
seeks to hire a faculty member with expertise in social network analysis. The position is
open at all ranks (Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor) and disciplines
(sociology, political science, economics, science and technology, etc). Preference will be
given to candidates with an active research agenda related to social network analysis
with the capacity to engage in both undergraduate and graduate training. Only
candidates with a PhD degree by the time of appointment (July 2016) will be considered.
The Division of Social Science at HKUST is a world‐class, multidisciplinary academic
department. In both 2013 and 2014, the Times Higher Education Rankings determined
that the Division was #1 in Citations in Social Science among all Asian Universities. This

Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, and
housing benefits where applicable. Appointment at Professor rank will be on a
substantive basis. Initial appointment at Assistant Professor/Associate Professor rank
will normally be on a three‐year contract, renewable subject to mutual agreement. A
gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
