Eligibility Requirements
Must have received PhD or equivalent within 10 years of the application deadline. Abstract of writing project. Project description, with bibliography. CV. The Foundation particularly welcomes proposals that employ a comparative perspective, can generate innovative approaches or ideas, and/or integrate 2 or more subfields. Priority is given to those applicants that at the time of application have a book contract in hand, have been in contact with publishers or have detailed writing plans (e.g., developed book, monograph, or article outlines), and show evidence of these in their application.

Stipend
Stipend up to $40,000 for twelve months of continuous full-time writing.

Program Description
The Wenner-Gren Foundation offers 8 awards for up to a year for anthropology postdoctoral scholars to work on research for publication. Wenner-Gren is a private operating foundation dedicated to the advancement of anthropology throughout the world. The fellowship supports anthropology scholars early in their careers, conducting research and full-time academic writing. There is no preference for particular geographic areas or topics.
