University of Western Ontario is hiring two people this fall in the sociology department.  The area is Social Stratification and the rank is open.  The ad also notes that they are hoping to have the new hires be able to teach some undergrad courses in Crim/Soc of Law/and related courses.

Department of Sociology – Academic Positions

Building on our main area of strength in Population Dynamics and Social Inequality, the Department of Sociology at Western, http://sociology.uwo.ca, invites applications for two probationary tenure-track faculty positions in Social Stratification. We expect to hire at the Assistant Professor level, but applications from exceptional, experienced candidates at higher academic ranks will be considered. The starting date for these appointments is July 1, 2018 or as
negotiated.

To be considered for these two appointments, applicants must hold a PhD in Sociology or a closely related discipline, and provide evidence of quantitative research excellence through a record of internationally recognized publication in the discipline’s leading journals and strong
endorsements from referees. Evidence that a candidate has presently, or at least has the potential to develop, the capacity to conduct innovative externally funded research projects that complement the Department’s core research activities in social inequality is required. Successful candidates will be expected to teach courses in Criminology, the Sociology of Law, and related subjects at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise in our graduate program. Evidence of the ability to teach at the postsecondary level, and
evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, must be provided.
