Anoushka Patel Publishes in Social Science Research

Congratulations to doctoral student Anoushka Patel on publishing her article, “The Role of Sanitary Pads in School Achievement in Low-Income Settings,” co-authored with William Axinn and Dirgha Ghimire, in Social Science Research. Using longitudinal data from Nepal, this study examines whether the availability of  sanitary pads in school restrooms is associated with school achievement among eighth graders. Patel and colleagues find a positive association between the availability of sanitary pads and an increase in math and science test scores, but these associations are not statistically significant.
