Full/Part Time Status: Full Time
Position Description: The Department of Sociology at the University of Iowa seeks applicants for appointment at the rank of Lecturer (full-time, non-tenure track) to teach introduction to sociology, social problems, and other specialty courses depending on the expertise of the faculty member hired.  We would be particularly interested in candidates who could teach course on family, gender, organizations or economic sociology.  The teaching load is three courses per semester.  This position will be an integral part of the Department’s efforts to expand our offerings and we seek a candidate who is an enthusiastic and effective teacher. A PhD in Sociology is required. Prior teaching experience is highly desirable.  Salary is commensurate with experience. The position will begin in August 2015; the appointment requires that a Ph.D. be received by start of the appointment.  The position is a 3-year renewable appointment.
