From Research to Policy: Learn and Practice Writing to Reach Policy Audiences

You are cordially invited to attend the PopPov Research Network’s workshop, “From Research to Policy: Learn and Practice Writing to Reach Policy Audiences,” during the Population Association of America’s annual meeting in San Diego. D’Vera Cohn (Pew Research Center) and Dr. Robert Stephenson (University of Michigan) will facilitate the workshop. The workshop is designed to help researchers engaging with population and demographic issues translate their findings into a format that reaches policymakers and other non-academic audiences.

Specifically, this interactive workshop will provide instruction on:

  • Crafting a clear and meaningful op-ed
  • Getting your op-ed published
  • Working with editors
  • Sharing the value of your non-academic writing in tenure and promotion packages
