Position Announcement – University of Utah, Assistant Professor in Families, Health and Policy
The Department of Family & Consumer Studies at the University of Utah invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will have collective expertise in families, health, and policy. Research interests should connect family health issues at any stage of the lifespan to public policy contexts. Examples include, but are not limited to, how maternal employment practices and policies affect children’s obesity, how child protective services policies and associated adverse childhood family experiences predict the risk of chronic diseases, how genetic testing policies alter reproductive choices, how public aid policies affect the mental health of recipients and their family members, or how government programs impact options for informal caregiving of ill family members. Teaching responsibilities will include courses in our department as well as courses in the affiliated Masters of Public Policy program. Scholars with a focus on diverse families are especially encouraged to apply.
