University of Colorado Denver. The Department of Sociology invites applications for one tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin fall 2016. The department is especially interested in applicants with a strong record of primary scholarship and teaching in race and ethnicity. Expertise in criminology also is preferred. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Sociology or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment. Applications should include: 1) a letter of introduction which addresses the position requirements and summarizes the qualifications of the applicant; 2) full curriculum vita; 3) research statement; 4) teaching statement; and 5) a list of names and contact information for three professional references (do not have reference letters sent; they will be requested as needed). The department is committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty to reflect our student body composition. Candidates should identify their strengths and experiences in this area.
