Position Announcement – University of Utah, Demographic Data Analyst

Responsible for developing, manipulating, and analyzing datasets pertinent to population research. Also responsible for using statistical tools and methods to develop estimation models, estimates, and derivative products. Engages in research related to a wide variety of demographic topics. Generates written, graphic, and other related products. This person will work as a member of the Demographic Team at The Policy Institute. This team is primarily responsible for producing demographic estimates, population projections, and community indicators for the State of Utah. Population, household, and housing unit estimates will be produced at both the regional and community level. In this role, s/he will be responsible for building and maintaining specific data sets required for the work and integrating these into our database system. Ideally the candidate has experience in advanced applied statistics, data modeling, and social science research.
