Congratulations to Ariadna Jou for being selected as the recipient of the 2022 Donald J. Treiman Fellowship

We are pleased to announce that the review committee has selected Ariadna Jou (Econ) to be the 2022 recipient of the Donald J. Treiman Fellowship for her project “The Effects of the New Deal Relief on Longevity.” Her CCPR faculty mentor is Adriana Lleras-Muney (Econ).

Using the set of policy programs (New Deal) that the government implemented in response to the Great Depression, Ariadna’s project studies the long-term effects on health, and evaluates how these policies affected longevity differently for children and adults. Her results will thus inform future policy design so that scarce resources can be allocated to the families suffering the most during an economic recession or crises.
