Kristin Liao awarded 2025 Donald J. Treiman Fellowship
We are delighted to announce that the 2024-25 CCPR Awards Committee (Martha Bailey, Jamie Goodwin-White, Adriana Lleras-Muney, Naomi Sugie, Megan Sweeney, and Jennifer Wagman) has selected graduate student Kristin Liao (Sociology) as the recipient of the 2025 Donald J. Treiman Fellowship, awarded annually to support demographic research.
Kristin is a social demographer broadly interested in immigration, social stratification, causal inference, and formal demographic methods. Her dissertation committee is co-chaired by Jennie Brand and Andres Villareal. With support from the Treiman Fellowship, Kristin will investigate a recent and puzzling reversal in the longstanding earnings disadvantage experienced by highly educated immigrant populations in the United States relative to their similarly educated native-born counterparts.
Congratulations, Kristin!
